Dream Dress Designs is a Calgary based, full service fashion design studio that specializes in custom bridal and formalwear and carries local designer ladieswear brands. We are devoted to making beautiful, unique clothing for women. Whether it is a dream wedding dresses, for that special day, or "the little black dress" that every woman needs in her closet, our in house designer, Michelle is an expert couturier, trained in fashion design and very experienced in custom design. Her label Emogene Couture, is a mainstay in our studio.

From start to finish, we will make of your "dream dress" unique to you, both in fit, and design; creating a gown that makes you look beautiful and feel special. Although we specialize in making wedding dresses, we also make graduation dresses, formal gowns, cocktail dresses, all type of special occasion wear. We are happy to do your wedding gown alterations, reproduce celebrities evening gowns, designer evening gowns and make modest church wedding gowns. We will take your design concept, and translate it, into a dress that fits you perfectly, suits your personality and enhances your body to it's best advantage. The owner and creater of Dream Dress Designs, is none other than Michelle Baynes. Passionate about fashion since childhood, Michelle took her formal training at Kwantlen College in Richmond BC, in the early nineties. After graduating with honors, she gained experience working in a tailoring/uniform factory in Edmonton, and then spent a number of years back in retail, and at various jobs, searching for her niche. By a fluke, she answered an ad in the local paper for an in house designer at a small bridal boutique, and the rest is history. She immediately fell in love with the process of one on one client driven design, taking wedding gown dreams and making them a reality.
Michelle has spent the last twenty years, honing her skills, developing finishing and couture techniques that place her garments above the rest. She has devoted 15 years to teaching sewing and fashion design to adults through continuing ed with the Calgary Board of Education as a way to give back to the industry she loves. After spending over 12 years making dream wedding gowns for local brides, in 2010 she launched a collection of high end ladies wear under the label Emogene Couture to rave reviews. There is no stopping this female dynamo, who is in it for the pure rush of creative design instead of the "big bucks" of mass production. She feels truly blessed to be able to earn a living doing a craft she loves. What Michelle brings to the wedding and fashion industry is unique, exclusive designs that you can't get just anywhere, attention to detail, high quality, handmade, and couture detailing.
